Here’s a little soap history you might not know!
Lye soap like we make has been around for many generations, and it is a common household item throughout the world. My grandma even has some that my great great grandma made (Pictured below). Before the days of buying it from big companies and grocery store shelves, people made this soap at home and used it in a variety of ways. The ingredients they used to make the lye soap came from everyday household products, and it could be produced to be used for many activities around the house. Like hand washing, laundry, cleaning fruits and vegetables and using it as a general household cleaner. Now we use specially formulated recipes with high quality goat milk, fats, butters and oils to make highly cleansing, nourishing and moisturizing soap!
